We always have requests to find lower cost alternatives to led dance floor panels and we have found the solution. The fiber optic dance floor panels are 4 inch by 4 inch panels that are 3.5 inches high. The fiber optic dance floor panels can be mounted indoor or outdoor and you can permanently place these in the floor itself. The panels will never need any maintenance and there will never be any bulbs to change in the panels themselves. We have incorporated fiber optic end glow technology into the dance floor panels so all the lighting maintenance can be done away from the floor itself at the fiber optic illuminator. The fiber optic dance floor will take some detailed planning on your part and should be planned for permanent installation. You should use at least 150 watt metal halide fiber optic illuminator and for the best effect you can use a 250 watt metal halide illuminator. You have the option for a standard or custom 4 color, 8 color and even a DMX controlled illuminator as well. Each fiber optic illuminator is capable of powering up to 20 dance floor panels. Each fiber optic illuminator can only produce one color at a time so if you would like multiple colors on the your dance floor you might require more than one fiber optic illuminator. Please refer to the diagram listed below.

Step one: Determine the size and pattern of your dance floors and calculate out the total amount of fiber optic dance floor panels that you desire. Please note that you will need some space between each row to run the fiber optic cable. Plan on at least two inches between row of fiber optic dance panels.

Step two: For every 20 dance floor panels you will need one 150 watt or 250 watt fiber optic illuminator.

Step three: Determine if you would like to have all the floor panels to change color at once, if you would like to like to have a DMX controlled illuminators and if you would like to have custom colors for each illuminator.

Step four: Estimate the distance between each individual dance floor panel and where you are going to place the illuminator. This will help you calculate how much fiber optic cable that you will need. Keep in mind, each individual panel is going to need a cable going between the panel and the illuminator. The closer the illuminator can be placed near the dance floor, the less cable you will need thus saving you money.

Step five: Determine how you plan on finishing around the tiles. In most of our movies we show using paver stones, but we highly suggest that you actually use cement between the tiles and level the entire floor so it will not become a trip hazard.

This is one of the most cost effective ways to build your own dance floor. On average 20 panels with the cable and illuminator will cost approximately $1700 to $2800 depending on the length of the fiber optic cable needed and the illuminator that you choose which is much lower in cost than our led dance floors.
